Basic Slot Rules
Basic Slots also called flat tops have a consistent jackpot payout which never changes regardless of much the machine is played upon. They give out smaller wins to ensure a continuous play as well as to keep you going. There are many variants to the Basic Slots, but all require maximum coins to win the jackpot. The following three rules should be adhered to keep stretch your bankroll as much as you can.
Firstly, you must stay away from multiple pay line and stick to playing single pay lines. Multiple Pay lines are ore expensive and should be preferably played on Bonus Slots.
Secondly, stick to two-coin maximum basic slot. While a 3 coin may show a payout of 120 coins for the same combination as 80 for 2 coins, you are gambling away an extra coin. The, payouts for each spin are generally equal. 2 coins generate more pulls and thus more chances of winning.
Thirdly, look out for those slots that pay double jackpots on certain pay-line combinations. Whenever a double symbol appears on the pay line in combination with other symbols which normally would have made a winning combination, the payoff amount is doubled.
Check the game and machine you choose before playing because not all slots will double and quadruple all pays and not all machines will have double jackpots. Also, do not get mixed up with joker machines or wild cherries or any other symbols noted on the machines payoff displayed as being "wild". Symbols representing 'wild' may substitute other paying symbol, but not all will pay double. You almost never find these preferred slots in the same carousel. Carousel slots are mixes of good and bad machines.
A common misconception among players is that if a casino advertises specific slots as 98% return for each $1 you put in, you get back 98 cents. That is not the case. What it means is that over the fiscal-year-life-cycle of that particular slot machine, it will average payoffs equal to 98% of all money put into it. Casinos that advertise high return slots or 100% 'certified' slots, which are usually dollar slots, must inform you if all the machines in that carousel are high-return slots or just one or two slots. Slot hosts or change people at the carousels will provide the answer to you.
